Update:........San Carlos to Mazatlan

December 5 - 11, 2015
Left San Carlos @ 10 AM  on Saturday for a drive to the gated secure Pemex south of Los Mochis. What a day....for some reason....construction... kept us busy on the road for 7 hours.A beer never tasted so good!

Got on the road by 7:30 AM for the trek to Mazatlan. Roads were very good....arrived @ Cerritos RV Park around  2PM. Only had one spot available so we took it as we are staying for a week. Mike and Liz went down the road to Las Jaibas RV Park as they are heading out to Lo de Marcos on Wednesday

Went out for dinner with Liz and Mike @Plaza Machado in Old Town. Took one of the red p/u trucks as a taxi. Ended up at Pedro and Lola restaurant......food was OK but sitting outside eating was the best part. Appy, entree and dessert with a couple bottles of vino did the trick. Caught a "pulmonia"(open air VW ) for the ride back.....enjoyable evening with a great couple

The park is almost full with permanents so there are only 4 spots left for overnighters. Too bad as we really likes this spot with pool, good Wifi, laundry, electric and water pressure.

Yuma and Tucson

November 22, 2015
Well........on the road to Yuma. Plan on setting up at Fortuna de Oro RV Park which is a Passport America park (half price daily rates) I have set up an appointment to have the awning fabric replace a day before American Thanksgiving
Salton Sea, California

Arizona!

The RV Park is owned by the same company that just bought the one we stay at in Desert Hot Springs
You can see the similar cookie cutter approach they have when they purchase new parks. Pickleball courts, bocci courts, shuffleboard, tennis etc All brand new and updated

tennis

Covered social area

shuffleboard

We will be headed to Tucson to meet up with a couple who we know from Mexico and Sunday we will cross together and drive to San Carlos, on the Sea of Cortez

Enjoying Desert Hot Springs, November 21, 2015

We have really hunkered down here at the Sands RV in Desert Hot Springs
Wifi is very decent and there have been changes in the Park with the new ownership
I have been playing Pickleball almost daily as there are 2 new courts completed and one per month under construction until 8 courts are done.....really nice courts!!!!!
new Pickleball court

We have been re-uniting with the people we know here and overall there is a good feeling we have staying at this Park :) Maybe longer stays are in the future ? :)

We went out for a nice meal on Thursday to Lulu's in Palm Springs.....fresh oysters and martinis and wine and dessert.  Yummy! After dinner the weekly Night Market was in full swing, so we walked the numerous vending stalls and listened to the muscians.......great evening!!
"Blue Point" oysters.......yuuuummmm!

We are off to Yuma, Arizona tomorrow AM where we intend to stay approx. 6 days as the Barth requires a new awning and have some people to visit with.

The plan is to go to Nogales on Saturday, the 28th and into Mexico on the Sunday

Resting in Desert Hot Springs

Sunday, November 15,2015
The weather kept following us southward unfortunately. We spent the next miserable day in Corning ,CA Got through the Siskayou Pass with no problems....just wet
Decided we deserved a dine-out meal, so went for Prime Rib at the Rolling Hills Casino Steakhouse where we are parked for the night
nice day !!!!!
same old.....

same old.......

same old...............!!!

On the road again Monday with Bakersfield as the destination......still raining!!!! As we were fighting the consistent deluge of precipitation outside Sacramento ........a sudden "whaaaack" was heard.......the drivers wiper arm had broken!!! Was able to pull off at an exit ramp fairly quickly and pondered what the resolve was going to be. CoachNet Emergency services were required!! After talking with them and making sure they knew that I was "broken down"(ie. unsafe to drive for any repairs in the torential rain ), they agreed to cover the mobile service to my RV and I would pay the labor/parts for the repair. I was the one that researched for a mobile company in the area as they said they were unable to reach anyone?!?!?!?!? The mechanic was GREAT and repaired the broken pivot arm and I should not need to replace anything (actually they are working better than before) Anyways we had a 3 hour delay to our travel day and destination....so ended up reaching Lost Hills RV Park as the daylight was fading....ie. dark!

Hmmmmm......what do I do now?
Aaaaaah....Mike's Mobile Service to the rescue!!!!!
Filled up the RV in the morning next door, and headed for Desert Hot Springs.......yes....we have changed our plans...... we were going to go over to Lake Havasu for a few days but with this delay we decided to go to the familiar Sands RV Resort and rest up here before going to Yuma. Also we need to do a Costco/Trader Joe's stop for stuff before Mexico (Yuma doesn't have them)

Well.....as we are setting up the sat dish for TV, one HD receiver decided to crap out. I contacted Shaw Direct and ordered a replacement to be shipped to our house and then have my assistant ship it down the RV Park......hopefully it should get here by Friday!!! A little longer stay here at the Park, but it is very convenient to everything and also has 2 new pickleball courts to keep me entertained each morning
